PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT (SAFETY)
Multiple permanent, intermittent positions available at the Department of State Hospitals - Napa in Napa County. Employees work up to 1,500 hours per fiscal year and must meet minimum shift requirements: twelve 8-hour shifts per calendar month (at least six on weekends), three major holidays, and three high-need days per year.
About the role
The Psychiatric Technician Assistant (Safety) supports the DSH-Napa Registry Pool by escorting patients to and from on-grounds clinics, the Family Visitors Center, community hospitals, and providing coverage for programs/units and the Central Staffing Office.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from on-grounds clinics, Family Visitors Center, and community hospitals.
- Provide coverage for programs, units, and the Central Staffing Office.
- Work a minimum of twelve 8-hour shifts per calendar month, including at least six weekend shifts.
- Work three major holidays and three high-need days per calendar year.
Requirements
- Complete the STD 678 Employment Application in its entirety, including job title, duties performed, and supervisor’s contact information.
- Provide a copy of a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health.
Pay
$18.46 - $25.15 per hour. New state candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
- Permanent, intermittent position with up to 1,500 hours per fiscal year.
- Shift requirements include weekends, major holidays, and high-need days.
