Medical Assistant/Medication Technician

About the role

Crownview Co-Occurring Institute is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the Nurse Practitioner in a fast-paced mental health/substance abuse treatment facility.

Responsibilities

• Scribe and communicate pertinent information to/from providers
• Obtain medication authorizations and appeals
• Medication refills/requests with local pharmacy staff
• Administer oral and injectable medications
• Document all medication updates / changes in Electronic Health Records
• Attention to detail with the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others
• Excellent communication skills, positive customer service skills, strong time management skills
• Affordable transportation
• Assists in other Administrative Department tasks / duties as necessary
• Inventory management experience
• Data Entry, Excel, and POS skills (1-2 years)

Requirements

• Experience in giving injections
• Basic insurance knowledge is required
• Upbeat, positive and professional attitude
• Flexible to take on new responsibilities/tasks as they come
• Knowledge and desire to learn about insurance, Medication and prior authorizations
• Microsoft Excel and Word
• Electronic Health Record experience preferred
• Two years of experience in behavioral health care, preferred
• Attainment of at least 18 years of age
• A Health Screening with negative TB Test Results
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• D.L. Required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some college preferred
• Minimum two years of experience, including one year of experience in behavioral health care, preferred
• Attainment of at least 18 years of age
• A Health Screening with negative TB Test Results
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• D.L. Required

Skills

• Knowledge and desire to learn about insurance, Medication and prior authorizations
• Microsoft Excel and Word
• Electronic Health Record experience preferred
• Two years of experience in the medical field, Mental Health experience preferred
