PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT (SAFETY)

Job Description and Duties

Positions are Intermittent, NOT Full-time. Intermittent positions are hourly part-time positions and working hours may not exceed 1500 hours per calendar year. Permanent/Intermittent employees still receive State health and retirement benefits.

Candidates must have a current and active CNA License with no Disciplinary Actions.

Incumbents provide a basic level of general and psychiatric nursing care to mentally ill and emotionally disturbed patients; demonstrate and exercise skills in identification and response to crisis management; report significant changes in behavior or health status to appropriate staff; and observe safety and security measures and assist in security functions.

Candidates must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any Shift to meet the needs of the facility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade
• Valid CNA licensure

Training Expectations

If selected, it is mandatory that you attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) in its entirety. NEO can be scheduled up to 30 days for level of care staff (clinical).

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a(n) CA Certified Nursing Assistant License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
