Psychiatric Technician - Adolescent Coed Behavioral Health Unit
Role Summary
The Psychiatric Technician plays a key role in maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for patients. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team, this position provides direct patient care, emotional support, and assistance with implementing individualized treatment plans. The Psychiatric Technician also supports clinical operations through accurate observation, data collection, and documentation.
About the role
The Psychiatric Technician works in the hospital setting alongside Nurses, Psychiatrists, and Social Workers to support individuals across the lifespan who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. They work closely with Nurses to promote a safe and therapeutic environment by observing and reporting changes in patient behavior. They assist with activities of daily living, facilitate groups and activities, and use therapeutic communication to address patient concerns, helping to foster a safe, healing environment.
