About the role
The State of Vermont is hiring entry-level Registered Nurses at its Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital in Berlin. This position offers a unique opportunity for new or soon-to-be RNs to develop a specialty in behavioral health. Mentoring and support will be provided throughout the course of your work.
Responsibilities
- Assessment and evaluation of patients experiencing psychiatric illnesses.
- Coordination of care and services tailored to individuals with various disabilities.
- Development and implementation of individualized nursing care plans.
- Administration of prescribed treatments and medications.
- Collaboration with community health services and families.
Qualifications
- Possession of (or eligibility for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont or a multi-state license.
- Completion of an accredited school of nursing program, with graduation required prior to hire and continued employment contingent upon passing the NCLEX.

Pay
The full salary range for this position is provided, with new hires typically starting at the minimum.
Schedule
Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections. Overtime work is considered a condition of employment.
