Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) /Physician Assistant - Treatment Resistant Disorders - Chapel Hill

About the role

The Treatment Resistant Disorders Group at Avance Psychiatry, led by Robert Millet, MD, focuses on cutting-edge, research-based treatments for treatment resistant depression and other conditions that do not improve with standard mental health treatments.

Schedule

• Outpatient position
• Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
• No on-call or weekend hours
• 1 day per week telemedicine from home with approval

Work environment

• Supported by Medical Assistants and Patient Coordinators
• General adult patients with psychiatric conditions who are commercially insured
• Integrated system with practitioners in primary care, neurology, addiction, opioid maintenance therapy, child psychiatry, and over 60 behavioral therapists
• Patient load includes 50% general psychiatry and 50% treatment resistant disorders
• Treatment modalities include esketamine (Spravato), ketamine, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing (NP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner—Board Certification
• Current valid state medical license
• DEA License
• Experience preferred; early career clinicians are encouraged to apply
