Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
About the Role
Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for their outpatient clinic in Gulfport, MS. The role provides general and specialized outpatient nursing services for children and adults with serious mental illnesses, including assessments, medication dispensing and monitoring, medication skills training, administering injections, and collaborating with pharmacies. This position works with patients, medical providers, and clinicians to develop culturally competent service plans and treatment services, operating outside a traditional "4-wall" model to integrate community services for patient benefit. The role involves face-to-face interactions, telehealth, and community travel to meet with patients.
For 50 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has served individuals across an eighteen-county service area, including Amite, Franklin, Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jones, Lamar, Lawrence, Covington, Greene, Jeff Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Stone, Walthall, and Wayne Counties.
Responsibilities
- Provide follow-up medication evaluations and monitoring for adults with serious mental illness and children/adolescents with serious emotional disorders in clinic and community settings.
- Deliver general psycho-therapeutic nursing and educational interventions to clients.
- Monitor individuals receiving medications.
- Provide emergency services as needed.
Requirements
- Certified Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Mississippi.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
- Personal transportation required to provide services in assigned counties.
- Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
