Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

About the role

FamilyCare is searching for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for our behavioral health department. Reports To: Clinical Director. Position Classification: Exempt. Work Location: Barboursville.

Physical Requirements

• The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, and reach.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with a valid West Virginia license and recognized by the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• If eligible, holds Prescriptive Authority through the WV Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses.
• PMHNP-BC

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health care services.
• Perform comprehensive Psychiatric assessment.
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Formulate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan, including ordering and/or administering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Facilitate patient education and participation in self-care.
• Implement systematic follow-up and evaluation of client status.
• Complete all appropriate documentation promptly according to FamilyCare Policy.
• Consult with, collaborate with or refer to other medical providers and behavioral health therapists as appropriate.
• Participate in research, educational activities, and the teaching of students, if interested.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
• Attend clinical and staff meetings.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned.
• Observe all health and safety requirements.
• Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
• Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization.
