About the Role
Provide direct nursing services, mental health assessments, and treatment to the people we serve with severe and persistent mental illness. You will obtain, record, and communicate important clinical information, and provide clinical services within a multidisciplinary team environment.
This is an inpatient position with our Behavioral Health Solutions Center and is a 24/7/365 first responder drop-off location for individuals in the community experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychological problem identification, crisis interventions, and similar services to assigned patients.
- Provide limited case management services to people we serve as needed.
- Assist consumers with psychological and social development and rehabilitation.
- Coordinate consumer’s use of other WellPower programs and outside community resources.
- Coordinate medical care and intervention with other clinical staff and psychiatrist(s).
- Draw blood for lab work for patients.
- Monitor consumer’s vital signs.
- Periodically provide community injections.
- Administer medications including intramuscular medications.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with WellPower standards.
- Participate in team/organization meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
- Maintain a trauma-informed environment of well-being.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
LPN
- Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed as a Practical Nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing of the State of Colorado.
RN
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado. License must be in good standing.
- Minimum two years nursing experience; experience in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic preferred.
BSN
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- 1-3 years of experience working with consumers with a serious and persistent mental illness preferred.
Experience with the severe and persistently mentally ill or similar populations strongly preferred.
Pay
- Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) - $30.12 - $31.62/hour
- Psychiatric Nurse II (RN) - $39.06 - $40.56/hour
- Psychiatric Nurse III (BSN) - $43.08 - $44.58/hour
- Awake Overnight Differential: $3/hr
- Language Differential - $2.50/hr for bilingual proficiency in Spanish & ASL
The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range; the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive hand/finger motions, manual dexterity.
- Requires fine motor skills for precise clinical procedures.
- Requires visual and auditory acuity to observe patient behavior and respond to alarms and calls.
- Requires a capacity to handle emotionally charged situations and maintain professional boundaries.
- Requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills for diagnosis and treatment planning, and to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing patient needs.
