Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our growing mental health agency in Montgomery, Alabama. The position involves diagnosing, conducting, and prescribing medications for patients with psychiatric-mental health problems and those who may develop them. You will also provide emergency psychiatric services, conduct physical and psychosocial examinations, and prescribe medications according to clinic policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat psychiatric-mental health patients
• Conduct physical and psychosocial examinations
• Prescribe medications following clinic policies and regulations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in ongoing education and training for improved patient care
• Assist in improving the work performance of clinic staff

Requirements

• Experience working with psychiatric-mental health patients and those at risk
• Experience with Suboxone administration
• Ability to provide outpatient and residential care to patients with mental health issues
• Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program
• Graduate professional nurse license and active registration
• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from ANCC
• Strong understanding of mental health impacts on society
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in medical software applications

Pay & Schedule

• Up to $130,000.00 per year
• 8-hour shifts
