Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
About the role
Elite DNA Behavioral Health is one of the largest providers of behavioral and mental health services in Florida. We are expanding quickly and seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner for our Kissimmee, FL location. Our mission is to provide high-quality, accessible care through a collaborative and innovative approach. As a pioneer in care coordination, we match patients with ideal services and providers, offering leading-edge therapy services including psychotherapy, psychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation, EMDR, and group therapy.
This role involves diagnosing, conducting assessments, and prescribing medications for patients with psychiatric-mental health problems. You will provide emergency psychiatric services, physical and psychosocial examinations, and outpatient/residential care for patients experiencing changes in mental status or chronic/urgent medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Work independently and collaboratively with a medical team, holding specific clinical privileges approved by the clinic’s Medical Executive Board.
- Perform patient histories, physicals, risk assessments, and order diagnostic/therapeutic tests.
- Prescribe medications in compliance with clinic policy, formulary, and state regulations.
- Consult with physicians on cases beyond the scope of a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Maintain accurate medical records and case presentations.
- Develop, execute, and review healthcare education for patients and families on disease prevention.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective clinic service delivery.
- Provide consultation to nursing and medical staff to improve work performance and service quality.
- Participate in an interdisciplinary team providing primary care to employees and patients.
Requirements
- Experience working with patients of all ages and administering Suboxone.
- Graduate professional nurse and nurse practitioner registration in a state (unrestricted, current, and active).
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by a master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited school.
- Strong understanding of societal impacts on mental health, problem-solving skills, and patient monitoring abilities.
- Compassion, sensitivity, and strong reasoning/thinking skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong computer skills, including word processing, data entry, and medical software applications.

Pay
Up to $130,000.00 per year, with quarterly bonus opportunities.
Schedule
- 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday.
- Full-time, in-person/outpatient setting.
