About the role

Elite DNA Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner for our growing mental health agency in Clermont, FL. We provide high-quality, accessible care through a collaborative, comprehensive approach, including psychotherapy, psychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation, EMDR, and group therapy. Our care coordination model ensures patients are matched with ideal services and providers before receiving direct care.

In this role, you will diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications for patients with psychiatric-mental health conditions, conduct physical and psychosocial examinations, and provide emergency psychiatric services. You’ll work independently as part of an interdisciplinary team, delivering outpatient and residential care to patients with varying mental health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and prescribe medications for patients with psychiatric-mental health problems or those at risk.
  • Provide emergency psychiatric services and conduct physical/psychosocial examinations.
  • Deliver outpatient and residential care to patients experiencing changes or declines in mental status, chronic, or urgent conditions.
  • Work independently within an interdisciplinary team, with clinical privileges approved by the clinic’s Medical Executive Board.
  • Perform patient histories, physicals, risk assessments, and order diagnostic/therapeutic tests.
  • Prescribe medications in compliance with clinic policy, formulary, and state regulations.
  • Consult with physicians on cases beyond the scope of a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Maintain accurate medical records and case presentations.
  • Develop, execute, and review healthcare education for patients and families on disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective clinic service delivery.
  • Provide consultation to nursing and medical staff to improve performance and service quality.

Requirements

  • Experience working with patients of all ages and Suboxone treatment.
  • Current, unrestricted graduate professional nurse and nurse practitioner registration in a state.
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by a master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited school.
  • Strong understanding of societal impacts on mental health, problem-solving skills, and patient monitoring abilities.
  • Compassion, sensitivity, and strong reasoning/thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, data entry, and medical software applications.

Pay

Up to $130,000 per year, with quarterly bonus opportunities.

Schedule

  • Full-time, in-person/outpatient role
  • 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
