Psychiatric/DD Nurse - Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare - Established Term Appointment

About the Role

Serve in a fundamental role as an interdisciplinary treatment team member for psychiatric patients, creating and executing treatment plans. This is a Psychiatric/DD Nurse Established Term Appointment (ETA) at the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health's Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare location (930 South Detroit Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43614-2701).

Responsibilities

• Observe, evaluate, and record patient behavior, condition, and response to medication and treatment.
• As charge nurse, initiate and direct psychiatric and nursing care for patients and provide support and direction for nursing staff while promoting a positive and safe environment for recovery.
• Contribute vital input on records, plans, and reports.
• Facilitate patient group activities.
• Utilize approved de-escalation techniques, support behavioral plans, and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Provide supportive interactions, encourage coping skills, and maintain a safe and structured environment.
• Promote dignity, respect, patient rights, and trauma-informed practices.

Schedule

• Part-time; classified as Unclassified.
• Normal working hours are 1st shift (7:00am to 3:30pm), 2nd shift (3:00pm to 11:30pm), and 3rd shift (11:00pm to 7:30pm).
• An Established Term Appointment (ETA) is scheduled to meet the needs of the hospital with no guarantee of hours, shifts, or assignment location. An ETA will have a length of appointment not to exceed ten (10) months consecutively.

Pay

This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 13 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. The compensation rate listed is $36.01. Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule.

Requirements

• Requires current license as registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio as issued by the Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of the Revised Code.
