Psychiatric Care Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination, scheduling, and care of all psychiatric care-related referrals
- Aid in managing provider schedules; ensure efficient scheduling in line with productivity standards
- Support the triaging of appointments based on client status and conduct follow-up calls as necessary
- Handle phone calls related to pharmacy or scheduling concerns
- Collaborate with pharmacies to ensure accurate information and address any issues that arise
- Send and collect forms from clients as needed
- Manage the Psychiatric Care inbox by responding to and following up on emails to ensure timely responses
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare support role
- Previous experience using computerized appointment scheduling systems and/or electronic Medical Record systems
- Knowledgeable in HIPAA Regulations
- Detail-oriented and outcome-driven
- Able to discreetly handle sensitive and confidential information
- Able to demonstrate accountability and integrity
- Outstanding organizational and prioritizing skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with team members
- Displays emotional intelligence in personal interactions
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal
- Proficient in computer skills and software such as Word, Excel, G-Suite, and others
Working Conditions
This position requires travel to our mental health clinic in Manhattan. It is a professional work environment where a computer, desk, chair, and office supplies will be provided. The employee is regularly required to hear and speak on the phone or through virtual telehealth sessions conducted on a computer throughout the day, stand and sit for an extended period, and be able to write and answer emails in addition to carrying objects no greater than 25 pounds, when needed.
