Psychiatist

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat various mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance abuse disorders.
• Conduct complete history and physical assessments and follow up appointments.
• Create individualized treatment plans, incorporating therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes.
• Prescribe and manage medications, monitoring their effectiveness and potential side effects.
• Educate patients on medication management, including the importance of consistency, side effect management, and potential long-term impacts.
• Offer immediate support for patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises, including suicidal ideation, violent tendencies, or severe distress.
• Participate in case reviews, multidisciplinary team meetings, and clinical supervision.
• Ensure a patient-centered approach by fostering a supportive and empathetic therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited college or university.
• Active and unrestricted medical license the State of Missouri and Board certified in Psychiatry.
• Strong diagnostic and assessment skills, with In-depth knowledge of the DSM-5 and the ability to evaluate complex psychiatric conditions and provide accurate diagnoses.
• Knowledge of both pharmacological treatments and psychotherapeutic techniques.
• Understanding of medication management protocols, including how to monitor for effectiveness, adjust dosages, and manage side effects or adverse reactions.
• Strong working proficiency with Microsoft Suite and using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Pay

Total earnings for this position will range from Psychiatrist Range $290,000 - 350,000. Actual compensation may be determined by various factors such as licensure, experience, skillset, internal equity, schedule and/or location. Estimates are factored on a 1.0 FTE. Employees in these positions are W2.
