Psych House Director

Responsibilities

• Maintains current clinical knowledge relative to age and technology of patients from newborn throughout life span and keeps current with hospital policies/procedures.
• Manages patient placement, facilities, and resources.
• Provides information and professional support to staff.
• Serves as a role model and resource for staff.
• Represents nursing and hospital administration on the off-shifts.
• Participates in the development of nursing staff.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
• Be available for consultation with medical, nursing and administrative staff.
• Works with registration to coordinate bed control.
• Collaborate with managers to effectively manage staffing resources.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing preferred. BSN or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience: A minimum of four years of current clinical nursing experience in a hospital environment in which leadership, interpersonal skills, clinical expertise, and professional creativity has been demonstrated is highly desired. Two+ years of psychiatric nursing highly preferred.
