Responsibilities
- Maintains current clinical knowledge relative to age and technology of patients from newborn throughout life span and keeps current with hospital policies/procedures.
- Manages patient placement, facilities, and resources.
- Provides information and professional support to staff.
- Serves as a role model and resource for staff.
- Represents nursing and hospital administration on the off-shifts.
- Participates in the development of nursing staff.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Be available for consultation with medical, nursing and administrative staff.
- Works with registration to coordinate bed control.
- Collaborate with managers to effectively manage staffing resources.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing preferred. BSN or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum Work Experience: A minimum of four years of current clinical nursing experience in a hospital environment in which leadership, interpersonal skills, clinical expertise, and professional creativity has been demonstrated is highly desired. Two+ years of psychiatric nursing highly preferred.
