Job Summary

The PSR Communication Specialist greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors, ensuring a positive and engaging experience. Acting as a liaison between patients and medical staff, this role is key in making a favorable first impression on everyone who interacts with Prevea Health services.

What you will do

  • Facilitate communication between patients, family members, medical staff, providers, and administrative personnel through phone, in person, or via MyPrevea.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of the organization's structure to route calls, take appropriate messages, and proactively seek information to address patient needs.
  • Routinely route patient inquiries or complaints to the relevant parties.
  • Collect and verify accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Guide patients or callers with medical concerns by directing and forwarding messages to the appropriate staff.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Educate patients about the range of services provided by Prevea Health.
  • Operate the paging system, respond to emergency alerts, and notify the appropriate contacts.
  • Page on-call providers and communicate with clinical staff using Epic.
  • Collaborate with triage and nursing staff to ensure timely Handling Of All Phone Interactions.

Education Qualifications

A High School Diploma and/or GED is required.

Experience Qualifications

1-3 years Experience in customer service, insurance and/or healthcare setting is preferred.
