PS Nurse Practitioner- Fellowship Hospitalists Program
Job Summary
The Division of General Internal Medicine of the University of Utah's School of Medicine is seeking motivated candidates for an Advance Practice Clinician Hospitalist Fellowship program. The program aims to provide comprehensive training in inpatient medicine, broaden knowledge, and develop analytical and systematic approaches to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Affords comprehensive training in inpatient medicine.
- Broadens and strengthens knowledge in the field.
- Helps develop an analytical and systematic approach in diagnosing and caring for hospitalized adult patients.
- Rotates with the infectious disease service, cardiology service, and intensive care unit.
- Receives essential procedural and echocardiography training.
- Builds confidence in providers with effective communication skills and the capability to advance to full responsibility and autonomy in patient care.
Requirements
- Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah.
- Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.
- Utah State prescriptive privileges.
Qualifications
- Supporting evidence of successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Certification and licensure to practice and prescribe (with active DEA license).

Program Goals
The program aims to help build confident providers with effective communication skills, capable of advancing to take on full responsibility and autonomy in patient care. Fellows will rotate with various services and receive essential procedural and echocardiography training.
Application Process
To apply, every applicant must include supporting evidence of successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Certification and licensure to practice and prescribe (with active DEA license) must also be provided. Entrance to the fellowship will be granted based on CV, three letters of recommendation from the program attended, a personal interview, and criminal background check.
