Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Provider Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator to recruit, develop, and support a robust network of volunteer physicians who provide compassionate care to underserved populations. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role serves as a key liaison between Mercy Care and the medical community, ensuring volunteer physicians are successfully recruited, credentialed, onboarded, and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain volunteer physicians to support Mercy Care’s clinical services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with physician practices, healthcare organizations, medical associations, and community partners throughout the Atlanta area.
  • Coordinate physician onboarding, orientation, credentialing, training, and ongoing engagement activities.
  • Guide physicians through credentialing requirements and maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
  • Develop and manage volunteer physician schedules and assignments to ensure adequate clinical coverage.
  • Supervise and mentor a team supporting physician recruitment and workforce development efforts.
  • Serve as a physician scribe initially and lead the development of a sustainable Scribe Program to support volunteer providers.
  • Collaborate with leaders across multiple departments to enhance volunteer physician experiences and program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of healthcare-related experience preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach, relationship building, or volunteer coordination.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and scheduling skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders.
