About the role

The Provider Optimization Specialist for Optum Massachusetts supports the Same Day Services division within Atrius Health and Reliant Medical Group, part of Optum Massachusetts. This role provides 1:1 support to providers, leads training sessions, and collaborates with IT teams to improve Epic EHR system proficiency and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provides 1:1 support to practicing physicians, advanced practitioners, and other providers.
  • Co-leads a monthly in-person EPIC troubleshooting course for providers.
  • Updates and documents progress with individual providers.
  • Supervises, teaches, and guides Provider Superusers.
  • Collaborates with the Epic Optimization Team.
  • Identifies and resolves system and workflow issues.
  • Travels to various clinical sites for in-person optimization.
  • Reviews Epic help desk queue support logs and provides guidance.
  • Redirects questions and enhancement requests to appropriate team members.
  • Supports the clinical aspects of Epic for users.
  • Enhances professional growth through educational programs and seminars.
  • Attends and presents at meetings as required.
  • Supervises a group of exempt staff and oversees their development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).
  • Able to obtain Unlimited Licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Strong familiarity and comfort using Epic.
  • Knowledge of value-based healthcare and ability to develop system solutions.
  • Active DEA License.
  • BLS & ACLS certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Clinical Informatics.

Pay

Compensation based on quality of care, not just the number of patients seen.
