Position Overview
The Optimization Coordinator serves as a key member of the Optimization Group, reporting directly to the Optimization Manager. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and sustaining creative operational solutions that enhance performance across BOS (Base Operations Support) contracts. The coordinator works closely with cross‑functional teams and engages with personnel at all levels of the contract to drive efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement. In addition to optimization responsibilities, this position provides operational support as needed, including supervisory assistance to ensure smooth day‑to‑day execution of contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement optimization initiatives that improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance contract performance.
- Collaborate with the Optimization Manager to identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement.
- Create and maintain documentation, tools, and workflows that support optimization strategies across BOS contracts.
- Engage with contract leadership, supervisors, and frontline staff to ensure alignment, adoption, and sustainability of new solutions.
- Provide supervisory support to operations during peak periods, staffing shortages, or special projects.
- Monitor performance metrics and assist in analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Support training and communication efforts to ensure teams understand new processes and expectations.
- Assist with cross‑departmental initiatives that strengthen contract performance and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement by promoting creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Experience in operations, process improvement, or project coordination within a service‑driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate challenges into actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, contract‑driven environment.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency with productivity and data tools (e.g., Excel, workflow software, reporting platforms).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Safety, Quality, and Compliance Responsibilities
- Enforce a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Complete all training requirements and fulfill all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
- Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts. Read and understand Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
- Read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
