About the role

Prototype Assembler II responsible for electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical assembly and rework in support of engineering development and low-volume product builds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and rework PCBs, cable harnesses, evaluation kits, and prototype hardware following engineering guidance.
• Perform SMT and through-hole soldering, rework, and inspection to ensure quality standards.
• Support prototype and development builds, assist with modifications and engineering changes.
• Maintain detailed documentation and build records for assemblies and projects.
• Follow ESD, handling, cleanliness, and safety protocols when working with electronic components.
• Collaborate with Engineers to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
• Adhere to assembly drawings, BOMs, schematics, and work instructions.
• Maintain organized workspaces and tools, and support multiple projects with changing priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of electronic assembly experience or equivalent technical training.
• Proficiency in SMT and through-hole soldering, use of assembly tools, microscopes, and equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
• Knowledge of soldering non-conformances and rework, including small SMT components.
• Effective communication, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Understanding of ESD protocols and safety standards in an electronics environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Operates in a professional lab and office setting, requiring standing, walking, handling small components, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Visual acuity and manual dexterity are essential.
