Position Responsibilities
- Patrols buildings and grounds to observe for adverse conditions.
- Makes observations and reports hazardous conditions and illegal activities.
- Enforces hospital policy during incidents using efficient and courteous procedures.
- Warns of rule infractions or violations and apprehends or evicts violators.
- Maintains proficiency in use of safety equipment and protective garments.
- Responds to alarms and dispatched calls, deciding on actions based on situation.
- Controls situations, subjects, and witnesses, protecting the scene and evidence.
- Prepares accurate reports of incidents and conducts interviews.
- Identifies and gathers physical evidence as observed.
- Provides testimony regarding incidents.
- Assists in identifying and resolving safety and security issues.
- Staffs Security Posts as required under supervision.
- Follows supervisor instructions and acts as part of a hazardous material spill team.
- Adheres to Customer Service Standards and remains familiar with departmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Security License preferred.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention training within first 90 days of employment.
- Valid Florida Driver’s license with a “good” driving history.
- No D.U.I. or felony traffic violations.
- No more than 4 points on driving record.
- High school diploma required.
- One year of previous security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
