About the role
The Department of State (DOS) - Secret clearance level is seeking a Protective Services Supervisor to oversee protection teams in a high-threat location. The role supports Department of State Worldwide Protective Services III (WPS III) Task Orders in austere environments.
Responsibilities
- Cook up contractor-provided protective operations.
- Support the DS/RSO Watch Officer in the RSO Tactical Operations Center (TOC).
- Coordinate protective operations, including managing the protection cell within the RSO TOC.
- Evaluate threatening situations and deploy additional resources as necessary.
- Operate and control communication equipment, relay radio traffic, and communicate with external parties.
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports.
- Maintain a watch record and ensure PSDs submit required paperwork.
- Assist with mission planning and maintain a database of protective missions.
- Brief senior U.S. Embassy personnel during emergencies.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship.
- At least 3 years' experience in protective services on WPS III or predecessors, or at least 2 years in protective security services with 6 months in TO.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in protective security assignments.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in protective security.
- Completion of a supervisory course meeting WPS III IDIQ requirements.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and Passport.
- Proficiency in English speaking, writing, and communication.
- Pass the pre-employment Physical Readiness Test (PRT).
Training (Paid)
- Attend and successfully complete DOS Protective Security Specialist Basic and Quick Reaction Force training.
- Weapon and PRT requalification course if applicable.
- Qualify with Glock-19, M4/MK18, M240, and M249.
- Complete the WPS III PRT.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
- Must be medically cleared for overseas travel.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, squatting, crawling, running, carrying heavy equipment, and operating firearms.
- Must maintain physical fitness and be able to sit and stand for long periods.
- Travel long distances by air, helicopter, and vehicle.
