Prosthetist and/or Prosthetist Orthotist Clinician (CPO, CP, Board Eligible)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and recommending prosthetic and orthotic services.
• Evaluate patient needs and formulate treatment plans.
• Select materials, make cast measurements, and perform fittings.
• Instruct patients on the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
• Evaluate and adjust devices to ensure fit, function, and medical efficacy.
• Provide follow-up care and in-service training to physicians and allied health professionals.
• Develop and enhance business relationships to secure referrals.
• Plan and implement strategies to meet revenue targets.
• Prepare detailed clinical notes for patient records.
• Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians.
• Assist other clinical staff and provide information to administrative staff.
• Adhere to safety regulations and comply with relevant government regulations.

Requirements

• Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
• A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license and driving record within Hanger’s standards.
• The ability to obtain and maintain state licensure if required.
• Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Effective communication skills for oral and written presentations and reports.
• Ability to assess patient conditions and advise physicians on treatment options.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships.
• Organizational, time management, and planning skills.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of demonstrated past experience in providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under the supervision of a certified clinician.
• Active listening, reading, and comprehension skills.
• Fine motor skills for scheduling and preparing patients, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in duration.

Pay

Competitive compensation packages starting at $75,000.00 yearly, with a range of $95,000.00 yearly, plus bonuses and benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with Washington, D.C. State Law. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location, and other variables.
