About the role
Hanger, Inc. is a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic services and products. This position is available in Baltimore and involves working with a loyal patient base at an established clinic. The clinic is connected to a MedStar hospital and collaborates with various rehabilitation programs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and recommending prosthetic and orthotic services.
- Evaluate patient needs and formulate treatment plans.
- Select materials, make cast measurements, and perform fitting procedures.
- Instruct patients on the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Evaluate and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices to ensure fit, function, and quality.
- Provide follow-up care and in-service training to physicians and allied health professionals.
- Collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team and utilize innovative technologies.
- Plan and implement strategies to meet revenue targets.
- Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
- Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians.
- Assist other clinical staff and provide information to administrative staff.
Requirements
- Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
- A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license and driving record within Hanger’s standards.
- The ability to obtain and maintain state licensure if required.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Thorough understanding of componentry and its suitability and reliability for specific uses.
- Effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written presentations and reports.
- Ability to assess patient condition and advise physicians on treatment options.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists, and patients.
- Active listening, reading, and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts, and correspondence.
- Organizational, time management, and planning skills.
- Physical abilities to lift, walk, bend, stand, and reach frequently throughout the workday.

Pay
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 yearly + bonus + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with Maryland State Law. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location, and other variables.
Schedule
This role may involve some on-call duties about three times per year.
