Prospective Pay Systems Coordinator
Responsibilities
- Captures and assesses the IRF-PAI process to determine a patient’s RIC, CMG, and payment under the rehabilitation Prospective Payment System.
- Maintains knowledge of Medicare regulations affecting Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
- Educates staff on accurate FIM assessment and ensures they are certified.
- Audits charts to verify compliance with reimbursement guidelines.
- Educates physicians on admission criteria and clinical documentation to support admission and reimbursement.
- Evaluates and works to improve outcome measurements.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology.
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse, Physical therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech Pathologist.
- At least 3 years of experience in the rehab area.
- BLS Course from the American Heart Association (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
