As a Proposal Specialist, you will ensure accurate information regarding products, services, and pricing in responses to Request-for-Proposals (RFPs). This role is critical to presenting high-quality responses that help win new business and maintain established contracts.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and understand each assigned RFP, partnering with the Lead and Writer to ensure an effective kick-off of each response.
- Participate in sales meetings and communications to assess the correct product and service needs for specific responses.
- Oversee and manage all material gathering and response submissions for each RFP, including pricing.
- On larger RFPs, partner with the Proposal Lead and Writer to complete questionnaires.
- Take responsibility for the final submission of proposals, basic build-out in response software for smaller RFPs, extensions of previously won RFPs, and connecting with subject-matter experts on areas of uncertainty.
- Assist other Specialists by reviewing response questions and leveraging team knowledge to ensure the highest quality responses.
- Use a continuous improvement mindset to streamline the team’s ability to gather data and share feedback to support future projects.
- Answer requests for questionnaires and information based on size and availability.
- Demonstrate clear knowledge of product functionality and value proposition.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, Education, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in Marketing, Communication, Engineering, Sales, Grant Writing, Education, or Business desired.
- APMP Certification preferred.
- Advanced ability to translate RFP materials and manage a list of requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Pro and Qvidian or similar software.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines simultaneously.
