About the role

Tetra Tech is seeking an Entry to Mid-Level Property Condition Assessor to join our environmental consulting team. The Facilities Consultant will conduct ASTM Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) across the United States, providing guidance on property conditions, risks, and repair costs. The role offers flexibility to work remotely or from Tetra Tech offices in Chicago, Atlanta, Plano, TX, and Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ASTM PCAs in accordance with latest standards
  • Perform on-site inspections, identify defects, and forecast capital expenses
  • Prepare and submit public records requests, conduct pre-deal research, and write reports
  • Communicate with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Work as part of deal teams to facilitate transactional due diligence projects
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Travel to various sites and conduct fieldwork as needed (50%+ travel)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BS in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, construction management, architecture, or related science degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-5 years of consulting experience including PCAs
  • Ability to climb ladders to access building roof systems
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, internet research, and report writing
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments / Environmental Compliance Reviews

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel and perform field work (50%+ travel)
  • Ability to walk across variable terrain, including uneven ground, in all weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders to access building roof systems
  • Full range of motion to support field activities

Work Environment / Environmental Factors

  • Based out of local Tetra Tech offices (Chicago, Atlanta, Plano, TX, Irvine, CA) with potential for remote work
  • Field work includes outdoor activities in various environmental conditions
  • Office work involves extended periods of sitting or standing at a desk and using computers

Additional Information

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday work schedule (40 hours)
  • Occasionally extended hours may be required based on project and client needs
  • Hourly range for California/Washington state staff: $26.44 to $33.65 per hour
  • Salaried range for all other locations: $55,000 to $70,000 annually
