About the role
The Warehouse & Supply Operations Specialist supports the depot's warehouse and supply functions, handling the receipt, inspection, storage, transportation, and issue of equipment, materials, and supplies for both civilian and military customers.
Responsibilities
- Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and invoices, compile information on quantity, quality, and type of material received, and identify irregularities, rejecting defective parts as necessary.
- Store items considering temperature, humidity, weight and height limits, turnover rates, floor loading capacity, and space requirements, with items labeled and organized for efficient retrieval.
- Fill orders, requisition stock to meet incoming demand, prepare inventory records and stock use reports, and investigate any count discrepancies.
- Coordinate with freight carriers and interact directly with customers, requiring excellent interpersonal skills to operate within a joint venture environment that blends two corporate cultures.
- Use Microsoft Office applications and learn shop floor and inventory management software.
- Lift and move items up to 35 lbs.
- Travel may be required to meet contract and customer needs, and the specialist must prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting for management.
Requirements
- 3+ years of related experience, may have a post-secondary degree (not required) or training in a related discipline.
- At least 3-5 years of experience with Supply Support / Stock Control.
- At least 3-5 years of experience with MS Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Project).
- At least 3-5 years of experience interfacing with a variety of information technology logistics applications.
- A valid driver's license.
- Experience operating a forklift and/or pallet stacker for 3-5 years.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, team environment.
Qualifications
- Self-starter capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including both verbal and written abilities.
- Asset Management System / Supply Chain Operations / Unified Tracking System knowledge.
- Familiarity with Army regulations and Army Supply.
- Basic understanding of government supply operations.
