Property Accountant

Essential Job Functions

• Performing accounting, financial analysis and reporting functions for individual real estate LLCs and other related entities.
• Working closely with Synergy’s internal real estate service groups, including property management, leasing, construction, and asset management.
• Maintaining tenant ledgers.
• Primary enforcement of Company’s internal control policies, ensuring compliance, adherence, and best practices.
• Preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual investor financial statements.
• Maintaining detailed financial workpapers and supporting schedules.
• Participating in the annual budgeting process and preparation of monthly reports for review by senior management.
• Maintaining confidentiality of information related to HR, operating companies and other functions as necessary.
• Preparing annual CAM and Real Estate Tax reconciliation charges to tenants.
• Aiding in coordination of information to external auditors.
• Performing other assigned duties and completing ad hoc projects, as required.

Job Requirements

• Completion of a degree in Accounting (4 Year).
• Two to four years of real estate accounting or audit experience.
• Prior Yardi and/or MRI experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Excel.
• Effective communication skills with superiors, peers, vendors, clients, and other related parties.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines.
• Quick learner with the willingness to learn new systems and the eagerness to grow with the company.
• High degree of personal integrity and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• A strong positive attitude, demonstrating professionalism and flexibility needed to attain Company goals.
• Working knowledge and understanding of GAAP preferred.
