Property Accountant
About the role
The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records and reporting for our property portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role requires advanced proficiency in Yardi and Excel, with a strong ability to work across teams to streamline processes and improve operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and sub-ledger accounts for assigned properties.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring proper coding and approval workflows.
- Track and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for each property.
- Use Yardi to bill tenant CAM estimates and perform annual CAM reconciliations.
- Collaborate with operations teams to monitor leasing activity, rent rolls, and occupancy reports in Yardi.
- Use Excel to create detailed financial models, reports, and pivot tables for management review.
- Support annual audit and tax filings by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of property accounting experience, ideally within an industrial or warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in Yardi 7S/8 Property Management Software is required.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills.

- Clock in and out using Asana to maintain project timelines.

Pay & Benefits
The annual full-time base salary range for this role is: $65,000-85,000. Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and Speed Bay Senior Management approval. Speed Bay offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full-time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K, in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
