Propane Technician

Core Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, and maintain propane appliances, including furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and tank systems.
• Perform rigorous safety checks, including leak tests and pressure tests, in accordance with NFPA 54 and 58 standards.
• Use specialized gauges and meters to diagnose equipment failures and recommend efficient solutions to customers.
• Participate in on-call schedule to handle emergency leak reports or no-heat calls.
• Set above-ground and underground tanks, run gas lines, and ensure all installations meet local and state codes.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certifications: VT/ NH Propane Certification, Hazmat and tanker endorsements, and Medical card.
• Licenses: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record. A Class B CDL with tanker endorsement is a plus, but not required.
• Experience: 2 Plus years of experience in HVAC or fuel service.
• Physical Demands: Ability to work in tight spaces (crawlspaces/basements), and operate in various outdoor weather conditions.
• Dependability: Need to have strong time management skills to balance your daily service calls and emergency dispatches efficiently.
