Propane Delivery Driver (CDL B) - Hiring Bonus

About the role

Family owned for over 60 years, Lakes Gas is among the largest propane providers in the Midwest. But don't let our size fool you: At each of our 60+ locations, we operate with a small-town, local feel, with employees who live in the communities they serve. This is a local route, home every night, Class B CDL position. Primary responsibilities include delivering propane, propane tanks and cylinders to residential and commercial sites while providing first in class customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane, propane tanks and cylinders to residential and commercial sites
• Provide first in class customer service
• Perform maintenance and upkeep of company and customer equipment
• Complete plant maintenance activities
• Fill, load, secure and deliver propane cylinders or bulk
• Inspect vehicle and notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies or routine maintenance
• Maintain compliance with all DOT requirements
• Complete DOT Hazmat Training and Maintenance every three years

Requirements

• Valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (or the ability to obtain requisite endorsements) without air brake restrictions
• A clean driving record verifiable by a Federal Motor Vehicle Report
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Federal DOT medical card
• Must have the ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in the English Language
• Must be able to comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Qualified candidates will be safety conscious and customer service oriented
• Ability to operate and maintain handheld tablets

Physical Demands

• Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to pull delivery hose
• Must be able to bend, climb, reach, and rotate as needed

Pay

$24.00/hr to $26.00/hr

Bonus

$3,000 Sign-on Bonus: $1,000 after 3 months of employment and achieving a minimum of a Class B License with Tanker and Hazardous Endorsements; an additional $2,000 after successfully completing 6 months of employment. Must be employed and in good standing at the time of payout to qualify.
