Under direct supervision of the Director of Casino Marketing, creates and implements promotions within the casino to bring guests to the property. Oversees Promotions Coordinators and maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Responsibilities
- Drive headcount to properties through promotions to increase revenue.
- Facilitate and run all electronic promotion functions.
- Follow accounting practices and purchasing processes.
- Generate and achieve specific revenue goals by developing promotion strategies that drive traffic through promotions, carded play, and effective communication.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of all written and oral information.
- Evaluate promotions to fit the needs of each property.
- Establish and maintain a communications system for internal and external notification needs.
- Ensure compliance of all promotion activity.
- Oversee a comprehensive plan and process for coupons/free play, promotions/lotteries, and communications.
- Collaborate with all impacted departments to maximize success for each property.
- Ensure timely planning, implementation, and post-analysis of all promotions.
- Provide adequate training for all electronic promotion functions.
- Coordinate and implement cooperative efforts with other departments and areas within the marketing department.
- Ensure compliance with all state, Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, and Tohono O’odham Gaming Office Tribal Gaming Regulations.
- Submit monthly reports on promotions.
- Oversee promotional budget and P&Ls to ensure promotions stay within budget.
- Work with General Manager, Player Development Manager, Player’s Club Manager, and other departments to communicate and maximize collaborative efforts.
- Work in compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures of the property.
- Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or related field required, plus five years of experience in promotions or marketing; three of the five years in a management capacity.
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
- Gaming experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- No felony, theft, or stealing convictions.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, and obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of principles and practices of promotions, analysis, reinvestment, player loyalty, and marketing in a guest service-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of customer service.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, budgets, monthly P&Ls, and overall financial practices.
- Knowledge of computer utilization in marketing/business operations.
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
- Ability to work closely with the General Manager to evaluate property promotions needs based on the database.
- Ability to oversee promotions to generate increased revenue.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
- Skill in communications and interpersonal relations.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software such as PowerPoint).
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to walk, climb, and balance.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is generally performed in an office and casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holiday, and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
