About the Role

At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to help make life better for people around the world, knowing that every decision, every detail, and every day matters. As Lilly's in-house agency, Thread Collective (TC), we fuse data, creativity, and technology to turn bold ideas into work that moves people worldwide. We deliver human-centric experiences that build trust, deepen understanding, and drive measurable outcomes.

We’re seeking an agency-experienced Promotional & Campaign Writer to play a pivotal role in crafting breakthrough narratives that inspire and connect with audiences. In this role, you’ll shape high-impact digital-first integrated campaigns, mentor fellow writers, and ensure every piece of content reflects our commitment to quality, relevance, and brand integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concept-level campaign content that brings brand strategy to life while generating awareness, deepening affinity, and motivating audiences to engage.
  • Craft distinctive and attention-grabbing short-form content across social, video, digital, print, CRM, and point-of-care tactics — built to flex across platforms while maintaining brand consistency and a clear creative point of view.
  • Translate brand strategy, customer insights, and clinical data into clear, compliant, marketing-ready concepts-driven messaging while navigating MLR review and advocating for creative excellence through final delivery.
  • Partner with marketers, creative directors, art directors, agency partners, and channel specialists to deliver breakthrough concepts that strengthen brand relevance and audience connection.
  • Apply performance data and audience insights to sharpen creative strategy, while mentoring others on copy development to raise craft, consistency, and storytelling across the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Lead Copy Writer delivering campaigns for both digital and traditional channels.
  • 4+ years in a traditional fast-paced agency setting leading concepting, pitches, and creative content development from initial strategy through final execution.
  • Link to portfolio required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robust portfolio supporting recognized global brands showing range and craft across digital and print channels, and campaign types that reflects both strong copywriting and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in translating brand strategy into integrated campaigns, with experience collaborating across creative, strategy, account, medical, and regulatory teams.
  • Proven ability to lead high-volume content development across multiple channels and brands.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare marketing is a plus but not required.
  • Agency experience supporting global brands across multi-channel campaigns, with understanding of healthcare audiences and compliance-driven review processes.
  • Strong command of creative short-form content development, brand strategy, omnichannel strategy, PESO frameworks, digital marketing, analytics, SEO, personalization, and A/B testing.
  • Ego-free leader with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, presentation, and deadline-management skills.
  • Motivated to employ emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve conceptualization, writing efficiency, and creative quality while staying current on industry standard processes.
