Promo Crew and Community Engagement Team:

This position reports to the Executive Director of Sales & Operations.

About the role

The Promo and Community Engagement Team plays an integral role in the Bucs fan experience by greeting each fan with enthusiasm, hosting on-ice contests, throwing t-shirts and promo items, handing out prize coupons, assisting in sponsored aspects of the game, and representing the organization at the highest level. Additional opportunities include community appearances and select Bucs special events.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set up and tear down of the arena
• Interact with fans to enhance their game experience
• Closely follow a promotions script and adjust to in-game plan changes
• Work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions
• Assist in the sales of Chuck-A-Puck during the first two periods
• Participate in on-ice activities and promotions during intermission and timeouts
• Effectively communicate and execute point-of-sale transactions
• Assist with the execution of partnership activations
• Attend community events to advocate for the Buccaneers and build the brand
• Set up, operate, and tear down informational booths, mini-games, and event equipment
• Sell Chuck-A-Puck and assist in clean-up during intermission
• Serve as the "eyes, ears, and voice" for the mascot performer, maintaining awareness of game progression, activations, stadium navigation, fan requests, and potential hazards
• Support mascot performer with preparation and execution of on-field skits, routines, t-shirt tosses, and other game day entertainment
• Assist with arena clear outs on certain nights

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Must be 17 years of age
• Ability to pass a criminal and background check
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
• Willingness to interact with fans and other community members
• Experience working in a face-to-face or customer service role preferred
• Ability to greet fans with friendly enthusiasm and energy
• Comfortable in front of large crowds and in one-on-one settings
• Deliver excellent customer service to all arena guests
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
• Must be available for all Bucs home games of the 2026-27 season
• Reliable transportation anywhere in the Des Moines Metro area
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays as needed for games or events
• Some knowledge of hockey, the Buccaneers, and/or sports promotions or marketing
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
