PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT (SEASONAL)

About the role

This is a seasonal position at Knife River, allowing team members to use their winters off for personal activities while enjoying continued benefits throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Administer awarded project contracts (asphalt, grading, and concrete)
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects
• Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures, staffing, and resource allocation
• Safely and properly manage and coordinate activities of projects with department superintendents/foremen
• Complete necessary paperwork, such as SWPPP updates and daily process reports
• Approve and review work hours for crew and pertinent job information daily
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve situations/problems related to material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.
• Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written); self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, Lockout/Tagout, safety, and environmental regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in product line and supervisory role
• Experience in HCSS and Microsoft Office
• Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights, and some Saturdays
