What You'll Do

As a Project Superintendent / Lead Technician, you will oversee field operations, coordinate installation teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise technicians and installation crews on security system projects.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and commission advanced access control and video management systems.
  • Terminate, test, and verify all field devices to ensure proper operation and system performance.
  • Cook daily with Project Managers regarding project status, labor forecasts, schedule impacts, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, time entries, inventory records, and project logs.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budgeted labor estimates.
  • Train and mentor technicians and apprentices on installation techniques, company procedures, and best practices.
  • Enforce Northland quality standards and installation methodologies.
  • Cook activities with general contractors, electrical contractors, door hardware vendors, and other trades.
  • Manage project inventory and maintain accountability for company tools and equipment.
  • Support project closeout activities and successful turnover to customers and service teams.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with Northland's Health and Safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Extensive field experience with electronic security and control systems.
  • Certification in at least two Access Control Systems (Lenel, Software House C•CURE, or similar).
  • Certification in at least one Video Management System.
  • Strong programming and troubleshooting skills for enterprise security systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience wiring and troubleshooting relay logic circuits.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and safe work practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience leading multiple crews or managing large-scale security installations.
  • Experience with enterprise-level access control and video surveillance deployments.
  • Data center, corporate campus, or critical infrastructure security experience.
