About the role
This position is remote.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all procurement activities related to a specific construction project site.
- Purchase, negotiate, and deal with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain cost-effectiveness while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
- Daily coordination, negotiation, procurement, and maintenance of materials, goods, and supplies necessary for quality and timely business operations.
- Align with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations.
- Manage supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in electrical construction or a related field.
- Previous experience with Astea or other computerized, web-based procurement and inventory software and/or systems.
- Knowledge of the electrical construction industry, how the submittal process works on large buyouts, and an understanding of related materials is preferred.
- Ability to investigate cost reduction opportunities and supplier’s ability to meet quantity, delivery, quality, technical requirements, and resolution of vendor issues as they arise.
- Work experience with LEAN methodologies and/or similar applications.
- Strong process orientation.

Skills
- Uses software system to enter purchase orders.
- Processes daily orders and/or functions.
- Supports and processes daily tool and equipment rental or purchase orders per guidelines provided.
- Supports prefab's daily orders.
- Completes material transfers within CMS or other systems on an agreed-upon schedule.
- Acts as key contact for coordinating and maintaining material.
- Utilizes current standards for all purchasing activities to achieve prompt completion and submitting purchase orders.
- Collaborates frequently with vendors and co-workers to resolve issues on invoices, utilizing the accounts payable invoice router.
- Supports and coordinates daily orders coming in and out.
- Verifies and monitors all pricing, shipping details, and other information on daily orders.
- Resolves issues related to incorrect material quantities or items being shipped, or delay of materials.
- Creates and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, project managers, office, and field staff.
- Develops and maintains lists of known vendors in specific markets for future reference.
- Researches new products and ideas, obtains product and vendor information, and pricing to meet purchasing budgets and bids.
