About the Role
A Project Scheduler builds project timelines, tracks progress, and manages resources. Key duties include developing baseline schedules, performing critical path analysis, and using Microsoft Project.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed project master schedules, milestones, and task dependencies using Microsoft Project.
- Monitor ongoing project activities, gather progress updates from team leads, and update baseline timelines.
- Perform critical path analysis, identify potential scheduling risks or delays, and present clear status reports to management.
- Coordinate resource allocation and workload distributions to prevent team burnout and project bottlenecks.
- Meet regularly with project managers, stakeholders, and external vendors to align on timeline expectations and modifications.
- Gather and input data into scheduling software programs.
- Maintain and update schedules as needed.
- Gather and analyze information to prepare reports.
- Evaluate critical path, manpower, resources, and equipment.
- Report to a Manager.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active Microsoft Project Management certification (a MUST).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis).
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls within a related industry (Helicopter MRO a big plus, e.g., construction, IT, engineering).
- Strong verbal and written communication, sharp attention to detail, and proven problem-solving abilities under tight deadlines.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), with additional specialized training or college coursework and at least six (6) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced MS Excel training and knowledge.
- Extensive knowledge of scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of field construction and plant maintenance activities.
- Understanding of schedule controls methodology.
- Extensive knowledge of resource monitoring techniques such as CPM networks, plus understanding of construction technology, process systems, and structures.
- Able to develop schedules from documentation.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Problem recognition and resolution skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Ability to walk on even and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to wear PPE including fire-retardant clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and respirator.
- Ability to enter confined spaces.
- Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year.
- Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break.
- Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted.
- Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection.
- Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk and hear.
- Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis; at times, lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
