Project Scheduler
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join a nationally recognized commercial construction management and general contracting firm specializing in federal, healthcare, education, industrial, and other complex non-residential projects for government and commercial clients. This is a fully onsite position in Greensboro, NC, with the ability to travel to client sites as needed.
About the role
The Project Scheduler is responsible for ensuring the customer’s scheduling needs are met, including competent planning and sequencing of projects. The role requires courteous, professional, expedient, and accurate service. The Project Scheduler will ensure the project schedule strictly adheres to contract documents and meets all contractual scheduling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, monitor, and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Critical Path Method (CPM) methodologies, including preparing baseline schedules and schedule basis documentation.
- Own and maintain master construction schedules by coordinating schedule inputs from project managers, vendors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and field personnel while ensuring all contractual scheduling requirements are met.
- Analyze critical path, near-critical activities, float paths, logic sequencing, constructability, schedule integrity, change orders, schedule impacts, claims, scope changes, trends, variances, and resource loading to identify risks and recommend corrective actions or schedule recovery plans.
- Produce schedule progress reports, trend analyses, dashboards, executive updates, scheduling estimates, proposals, historical schedule documentation, and lessons learned.
- Facilitate scheduling meetings, participate in project meetings, conduct jobsite progress walks, review third-party schedules, and serve as the scheduling subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial construction planning and scheduling experience (10+ years preferred) supporting a General Contractor or commercial construction organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong experience developing, maintaining, and updating master construction schedules using Primavera P6, including Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, schedule analysis, claims review, change order analysis, schedule recovery planning, resource loading, and coordinating schedules across project managers, vendors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 (Oracle), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, contract documents, and commercial construction practices.
- Experience supporting commercial construction projects, including infrastructure, retail, healthcare, institutional, or similar facilities.
- Design-Build experience and professional certifications such as AACE, PMI, CFMA, or AIC are preferred.
Pay
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 (depending on experience)
