About the role

Firehawk Aerospace is a leading propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company located in Addison, TX. Our innovative approach empowers us to design and manufacture cutting-edge solid and hybrid rocket motors and engines. We aim to push the boundaries of propulsion technology to serve both commercial and defense sectors. This position is full-time and located at our Addison, TX facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules using tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet.
  • Stand up Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) from the ground up at project initiation, mapping schedules through the entire Period of Performance (PoP).
  • Support bid and proposal schedules, ensuring accurate timelines and deliverables.
  • Maintain and update schedules throughout the entire lifecycle of the program, ensuring milestones are met and risks are mitigated.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Program Management, to ensure schedule adherence and resolve conflicts.
  • Communicate schedule updates, risks, and progress effectively to stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Provide detailed reporting and analysis of project schedules to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project scheduling or related roles.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and/or Smartsheet for schedule creation and management.
  • Demonstrated experience standing up IMS from scratch at project initiation and mapping schedules through the end of PoP.
  • Proven ability to maintain schedules throughout the entire lifecycle of a program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Experience using Basis of Estimates (BoEs) and resource estimates to derive project schedules.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State to conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JIRA for project tracking and management.
  • Previous experience managing external suppliers and purchase order (PO) management as part of project responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with hybrid or solid rocket motor manufacturing or processes is a plus.
  • Program planning and controls experience is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
  • Stamina to sit and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
  • May occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds.
  • May require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending.
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • May require the ability to travel by air or auto.
  • May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.

Security Clearance

  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information; having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
