Project Safety Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for project personnel.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into all phases of construction.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and records.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on the project site.

Requirements

• Five plus years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial role in heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30 are highly desirable.
• Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of civil construction.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions

• Travel: This position is geographically located in the Salt Lake City, UT office and may cover projects in surrounding states.
• Construction Site Environment: Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
• Office Environment: Extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping, and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
