Duties And Responsibilities
- Participates in all phases of projects through design, planning, and scheduling to include negotiating, pricing, and bidding on projects.
- Manages transfer of project pricing details to operations team in accordance with the department’s sales to operation handover SOP.
- Works in tandem with operations team to ensure a project is completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with commercial/pricing provisions.
- Maintains a high level of communications with customers/subcontractors.
- Maintains superior relationships with customers and subcontractors to meet project goals and to establish/maintain future business opportunities.
- Works efficiently and professionally within a team environment to maximize profits by minimizing potential for error and up-selling of services.
- Maintains regular discussion with upper management involving client changes and improvements are expected.
- Manages relationships with internal and external customers, as well as various vendors throughout the transport industry.
- Responsible for integrating vendors, internal and external customers while providing a professional reliable and efficient communication line between Fracht, the customer, and the sub-contractor.
- Train pricing supervisors/specialists/coordinators on all job tasks, as necessary.
- Manage tenders/RFP/RFI submissions.
- Delegate responsibilities to other pricing specialists/coordinators, if required.
Education And/Or Work Experience Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent working knowledge of ocean freight pricing terminology.
- Experience in negotiating Ocean freight pricing and trucking rates agreements/contracts.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics or equal level by experience a plus.
- 4+ years of pricing experience in logistics and freight forwarding.
- MS Office and other IT skills: basic MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel.
Physical Requirements
- Safely and successfully performs the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged period of time in office environment, desk setting.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
