About the Opportunity

The Project/Outreach Coordinator - ONR will lead efforts to plan and coordinate STEM outreach events and communications. This role enhances community engagement, promotes naval STEM opportunities, and ensures smooth execution of outreach initiatives. The position connects students and families with educational programs while supporting the Department of the Navy’s STEM goals.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage STEM outreach events including career fairs, student competitions, family STEM events, and naval air shows.
• Serve as primary contact for communicating Department of the Navy STEM opportunities such as SEAP, NREIP, SMART, NDSEG, and related programs.
• Coordinate with naval sites across the Department of the Navy to facilitate outreach activities.
• Manage ordering, delivery, and distribution of outreach materials including flyers, promotional items, banners, and engagement supplies.
• Develop and implement social media strategies to promote STEM initiatives and community engagement.
• Create clear written and verbal communications tailored to diverse audiences.
• Utilize Microsoft Office 365 tools to support project tracking, reporting, and collaboration.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in outreach, customer service, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Excel.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Current SECRET clearance or ability to obtain prior to award.
• Recent experience in event planning, social media strategy, community engagement, interpersonal skills, and content creation.
