Project Manager (Transportation)

About the role

Aldridge is seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic and energetic Transportation team in Des Plaines, IL. This role will work collaboratively with the project team to ensure that a quality project is produced safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture on assigned projects through proactive leadership and vigilance in identifying and addressing potential safety issues.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and training to direct reports.
• Host regular performance conversations to set goals, provide feedback, and support the development of direct reports.
• Manage all facets of assigned projects or assigned project scopes including safety, planning, scheduling, financials, and project execution using Aldridge’s standard processes and guidelines.
• Monitor project health using Aldridge’s project management tools and enact change when required.
• Manage projects in accordance with Aldridge’s contract with the customer.
• Own the financial tracking and reporting of assigned projects or assigned project scopes.
• Monitor billings and cash flow to ensure a positive cash position on all projects.
• Proactively manage subcontractors and vendors, including safety, work planning, scheduling, and payments.
• Act as a point of contact for communication with the customer on the project, addressing concerns timely while protecting Aldridge.
• Ensure there is a plan to meet all contractual requirements for assigned projects.
• Cultivate strong working relationships and promote effective teamwork amongst Aldridge and our partners.
• Regularly visit the project site to aid in planning, progress monitoring, and internal/external relationship development.
• Maintain accurate, current, and complete records for all assigned projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or other construction-related major, or equivalent construction or trade background.
• 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities and creatively problem solve to formulate viable solutions.
• Ability to travel to job sites as required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excels at time management and prioritization, consistently meeting deadlines.
• Adaptable and willing to embrace new challenges.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace preferred.

Pay

The annual base pay for this role is between $85,000 - $150,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for a bonus.
