Project Manager - Transmission

About the role

The Project Manager (PM) oversees the estimation, scheduling, procurement, and management of master service agreements and site-specific projects for transmission across a variety of customers served by Pike Electric, LLC.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and master service agreements in accordance with Pike Policies and Procedures
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers
• Ensure field operations are supplied with pertinent contractual information
• Develop and administer contracts, including change orders and submittals
• Implement and manage change control and risk management processes
• Create detailed estimates and proposals for site-specific projects and master service agreements
• Organize and conduct contractual meetings such as kickoffs, progress meetings, safety meetings, etc.
• Provide performance feedback and input to operations and field management members
• Prepare and report on project and contract status for field operations, management, and customers
• Generate accurate monthly financial reports with adequate documentation for management, internal, and external accounting purposes
• Manage invoices to ensure timely issuance and payment
• Support emergency and storm restoration events
• Manage and support EH&S and quality programs as applicable

Requirements

• 4-year college degree preferably in engineering or construction management
• Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience in the transmission construction industry
• Detailed knowledge of project management fundamentals
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Project and/or Primavera scheduling software (not required but preferred)
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft technical documents and present to diverse groups
• High energy level and ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• Proven success in building and maintaining relationships within and outside the organization
• Commitment to achieving goals and plans
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Strong negotiating and decision-making abilities
• Working knowledge of project accounting practices and financial systems
• Understanding of various contract pricing mechanisms (Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus, Unit)
• Ability to lead and influence others in a matrix organization
