Project Manager – Traffic: Leading Innovation in Mobility Solutions

About the role

The Project Manager I – Traffic at HNTB leads impactful traffic engineering projects across New England and beyond. Based in South Portland, ME or Bedford, NH, this role involves managing projects from proposal to completion, collaborating with clients, and ensuring successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope and fee quotations, assist in proposal preparation, and negotiate contracts.
• Manage project team to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets to client satisfaction.
• Perform technical tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production.
• Implement HNTB’s project delivery plan using SDA.
• Lead project management plan development and supervision of team towards project objectives.
• Coordinate project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and succession planning.
• Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursue champions for business development and pursuit efforts.
• Prepare and present proposal and presentation materials for strategic and mini-mega projects.
• May be responsible for recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of task management or Deputy PM experience

Preferred

• Experience managing transportation projects from planning through delivery
• Knowledge of traffic engineering and planning principles, including signal design, ITS, and traffic modeling
• Familiarity with project management tools and processes
• Proven ability to lead and inspire collaboration across disciplines
• Professional Engineer (PE) license and PTOE
