Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a Project Management role with a background in team development
  • 2+ years in an information technology capacity with understanding of various technologies including applications, databases, networking, telecommunications, and connectivity
  • Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP and/or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Understanding of various technologies including applications, databases, networking, telecommunications, connectivity, security, and compliance
  • Basic familiarity with Clarity or other Portfolio/Program Management Software

Responsibilities

  • Develops communication plan to provide continuous communication to project team members, customers, and project sponsors regarding project status
  • Identifies resources needed to complete work and collaborates with resource manager(s) to assemble appropriate skills/teams and resources
  • Manages issues, risks, and changes using agreed-upon processes and tools established within the Project Management Office
  • Determines project schedules, identifies critical path, and potential risks
  • Effectively applies delivery methodology and scheduling standards, enforcing them with project teams
  • Leads project team to maintain project work plans and drafts required deliverables
  • Facilitates/participates in project reviews and retrospectives, provides information for audits, status reports, and Executive Review meetings
  • Forecasts, manages, and reports on project financials, planned and actual project schedule, and resource utilization
  • Understands basic revenue models and cost-to-completion projections, making decisions accordingly
  • Manages development and processing of funding documentation to meet finance and PMO requirements and process
  • Works with Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Team to prepare RFPs, MSAs, and SOWs
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives and PMO onboarding activities
  • Performs other duties as needed

Scope & Autonomy

Full autonomy within the bounds of approved scope, schedule, and budget of assigned projects. Decision-making authority within project scope, schedule, and budget with team input. Responsibility to escalate decisions as needed with executive and/or senior leadership. Limited autonomy outside approved bounds; key project decisions affecting schedule, cost, or budget are reviewed and decided by the project executive sponsor.

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct reports but has matrix supervisory responsibilities for project teams varying in size from 5 to 25 people.

Financial Responsibility

Responsible for schedule, scope, and financial cost of assigned projects. Projects typically run from several months to multiple years, with financial costs up to a million dollars. Projects vary in complexity and visibility based on technologies, vendor engagement, project approach, and business impact.
